WHAT IS A DRONE ROOF SURVEY?

See Every Inch of Your Roof — From the Air

A drone roof survey uses a professional camera-equipped drone to carry out a detailed aerial inspection of your entire roof. The drone flies at low altitude, capturing full HD photos and video footage of every surface — including areas completely hidden from ground level.

The result is a comprehensive visual report that lets you — and your roofer — see exactly what's happening across your whole roof before any work begins. No guesswork. No assumptions. Just clear evidence.

EA Roofing Services operate as a CAA-licensed drone operator, fully compliant with Civil Aviation Authority guidelines for drone use across Cumbria and South West Scotland.

WHO NEEDS A DRONE ROOF SURVEY?

When Should You Book a Drone Inspection?

Drone roof surveys are useful in a wide range of situations — not just when something goes wrong.

🏡

Buying a Property

A pre-purchase drone survey gives you an independent aerial view of the roof before you commit. It can reveal thousands in potential repair costs before exchange — and give you negotiating power.

⛈️

After Storm Damage

After high winds or heavy rain, a drone survey quickly identifies displaced tiles or damaged sections — including those on the far side of the roof you can't see from the ground or garden.

🏚️

Older Properties

If your home is 20+ years old without a recent roof inspection, a drone survey gives you a clear picture of current condition — without the cost of scaffolding for a preliminary look.

📋

Getting an Accurate Quote

A drone survey lets us see exactly what's needed before pricing any job. Our quotes become more precise and transparent — no surprises when work begins.

🔺

Difficult-to-Access Roofs

Steep pitches, complex shapes, or properties surrounded by landscaping — a drone cuts through all of these access challenges cleanly and safely.

🛡️

Insurance Claims

Our HD photo and video reports provide clear documentary evidence of roof damage — useful when making an insurance claim for storm or weather-related damage.

  • Days to arrange scaffolding erection
  • Scaffolding left up during inspection period
  • Risk of damage to gutters and property
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Drone Roof Survey FAQs

Do I need to be home for a drone roof survey? +
For residential properties we'd recommend being present — but the survey itself requires no access inside your home. The drone inspects externally from the air.
How long does a drone roof survey take? +
The aerial inspection itself typically takes 20–40 minutes depending on property size. The full HD report is then compiled and sent to you — usually the same or next day.
Can a drone fly in Cumbrian weather conditions? +
We operate in most conditions — but will reschedule if wind speeds are too high for safe drone operation. We'll always let you know in advance and won't fly unless conditions are suitable for a quality inspection.
How much does a drone roof survey cost in Carlisle? +
See our drone survey pricing page for a full cost breakdown. Pricing depends on property size and location across Cumbria.
